Facebook Money Sharing Application By Buxter
Facebook Money Sharing By Buxter (ClickandBuy)
Buxter’s parent company estimates 16,000 online traders accept payments via Buxter. They (Buxter) has now created a facebook application called “Buxter” – Very original I know
This social network site application ONLY allows Facebook Friends to send small payments of a “maximum” of 50 Euros directly to each other. All transactions are handled by Buxter and currently in US Dollar or Euros but the Pound will be added some time soon.
Facebook Friends share a lot of information already so the idea is why not allow them to share small amounts of money too?
Marketing wise, it’s a great angle on thier business model as I feel they’ll come across much less resistance that targeting communities that don’t share or used to the idea of sharing anything. Time will of course tell how all this will be received by the social network community and media as a whole but I think it’s a good thing.
ClickandBuy, the company that operates an online payment service across the web with an estimated 13 million users world wide is the one behind the Buxer Facebook application. The fact that they’re some company I’ve never heard of, I believe one would have to signup to their service first. This usually reduces the number of participants as many are happy with PayPal hence reluctant to go through the signup ritual with another payment processing company.
Basically;
- You’ll need a ClickandBuy account to use this application.
- You can only send money upto 50 Euros to your Facebook friends
- You can send other currencies but you’ll incur a 5% charge
- You don’t pay for transactions between Buxter accounts
- You pay to move your money to another account say a bank at a minimum of 2 Euros, 2USD or 1.9%
So, What Can You Use This New Buxter Facebook Aapplication For?
With my little thinking hat on some what, I can see several ways this can be explored. In general, just think outside the box depending on your intention obviously.
- Signup for an account as soon as possible if you think you’ll need it because usually when a new service is launched, it’s easier to get in than after they’ve tightened their belts.
- Use it to share your group outing’s expenses say you all went to dinner and now have to “chip in”.
- If you’re a marketer you could market your material and people could pay you through this feature.
- Facebook allows you to create a survey or poll “I think“. Poll your friends (I suggest a more specific group around a similar interest than spamming all your contacts) and ask if they’d buy a say $7 small report that shows them how to improve whatever the group is about e.g. SEO, Gardening, weight loss etc. If there’s an interest then create the report and advise they do the Buxter Application thing.
Can You See The Negatives To This?
- You must signup for an account with ClickandBuy.
- You can only hold a very small amount of money in your ClickandBuy accout at any one time meaning you keep paying the commission when you move your money out of that account to your bank.
- For those looking to use it as a downloadable product marketing tool, your friends can simply forward on your download link to the other group friends since its a community. There are product locking software packages for this but its yet another step.
All considered though, it’s a good application and I am sure we’ll see several of the limitations above removed or adjusted depending on user feedback and reception. The fact is that the less limitations they have, the more customers they’ll get as it’ll be more appealing to use.
Online marketers will be eagle eying this one no doubt

Facebook Problems Today
A few reasons make me think facebook doesn’t like me today
- I can’t access my inbox
- I can’t reply or post to my facebook wall
So I thought I’d log out of facebook and log back in then try.
That process gives me a page not found – Error 404 message as well and if I close the browser and access facebook, I still access my facebook profile as if I didnt log out. Obviously its caching my details and holding onto my last session as I never successfully logged out.
Right now, I cant be bothered to close all my open browser windows to kill the IE process so I’ll just revisit facebook at a later time :p
I guess that give me an excuse to stop procrastinating or using facebook as a means to avoid taking care of other more important stuff as needed LOL
In the mean time, I hope you can focus on the important things in 2010 rather than being caught up in non productive time burning activities. Just don’t forget to have some “ME” time in the process – you must strike a healthy balance.
Mmmh, do you think I am just I am writing this facebook post as a means to avoid doing the more important stuff?
Beta Testers Needed
I’ll keep this short and to the point.
We’re currently seeking your help with the testing of several of our products and services.
These include:
- Complete PLR Blog & Review Sites
- Twitter Service & Product
- Membership Video & Article Directory
e.t.c
There are several others as detailed on the Beta Testers’ Page.
You don’t have to test all the products on that page if you don’t have the time; you can simply test the products you’re interested in or for which you have the time.
We’ll be sending out separate instructions for each product to prevent any confusion that may arise from sending one very long email detailing all the products’ testing requirements.
Rather than repeat what’s on that page, I’ll let you navigate to the Beta Testers’ Page and read up on what it is we’re seeking testers for and what’s involved.
Because you’re getting a free product or service in exchange, numbers are limited so if you think you might be interested, take the suggested action on that page.
Thanks for taking the time.
Microsoft Windows 7 – No Internet Explorer!
The New Microsoft Windows 7 E
The European Union’s view states that Microsft’s bundling of their Internet Explorer (IE) browser into their Windows operating system (OS) violates antitrust law. This is the same view the United States regulators mentioned in 1996. But in 2007, there was another complaint from Opera that stated that Microsoft’s practice of including IE in their Windows OS and not better adhering to Web standards was hurting competition.
Â
Now in 2009, Microsoft is planning to release a “special” version of their new OS Windows 7 (Windows 7 E) for their European customers that will have no IE pre-installed.
Basically, you get this box and I presume you have broadband then you realise you can’t navigate any where because Europe thinks it’s better for all concern.
Â
Cough – How silly is that?
Â
Any way, there are jobs to be created here as computer makers now have the option to re-install the Internet Explorer browser, ship another browser or ship multiple browsers with the computer. That should give you the end user the option to pick the one you want to use or learn the one the computer manufacturer has helped pick for you
Â
But its nice to know that Microsoft will provide their IE8.0 browser free of charge although separately and also make it as easy as possible for computer manufacturers to preinstall on Windows 7 machines in Europe if they so choose but be prepared to learn how to use different browsers depending on the manufacturer you purchase your computer from – That’s an exciting time waster.
Â
Personally, I use Internet Explorer 90% of the time and 10% Fire Fox. I am happy with that ratio and it works fine for me. On top of that, I feel getting an operating system with no browser a little annoying considering most of what I tend to do is some what connected to surfing the internet

Here’s My Strange Thinking
If I were looking to buy a book for say $10 and came across 2 book shops next to each other offering the same item at the same price, then I’d look at what else I get if bought the said book from either store. The one offering better customer service, may be a bonus complimentary report or fact sheet, discount, any extra free stuff on top of the book would get my custom. I am sorry but that’s value for money in my view and I’d think those guys offering more know how to do business because they know how to compete for business. So, because a company can afford to offer better bonuses shouldn’t make them a target by the said EU laws or any other for that matter.
Â
Incentives make sales and in a competitive market, one has to come up with loads of smart ways to do this and have a nice unique selling point – Fact!
Â
When we do product reviews and recommend them, we always try to offer the best complimentary bonus we can master to sway you to buy from us than the another vendor since we’d be offering you the exact same product. I thus, see no way that can be wrong. It’s just business at the end of the day and if you can’t find ways to even out the competition playing field, you burn which is a rather sad fact of life both on & offline.
Â
In any case, this serves to show how different rules are applied to different things. I just hope they never move onto budget airlines, grocery stores and online business.
Â
I hope you can tell us in general what you think about this subject or just my rant about it

It’s Christmas Again
It seems as though they year flew by much faster than usual which makes the phrase “time flies when you’re having fun” ring so true.
I really never seem to have actual resolutions but rather tend to continue from where I left though the ultimate goal is always the same depending on what I am working on.
A lot has been achieved this year so I can say it was a good year though made me realise how 24 hours in a day is not enough. That fact only really sunk in this year surprisingly. I’ve learnt a lot about leveraging and out sourcing those tasks that can be allocated to other people.
It still means I’d have had to learn them first as I believe in knowing how to do what I am delegating or I may not know how to judge the work once complete.
The Christmas Period is always a time to reflect on the year just gone or nearing the end.
- What have you accomplished?
- What have you learnt from all you’ve experienced?
- What are the things you would have left alone all together and why?
- Did you meet your targets – Yes/ No and Why?
- How & What are you going to change this time around – 2009?
Basically, think back and don’t dwell too much on those things that didn’t work out to your liking but aim to learn from the experience as a similar situation may come up again some time in future. Not just for you but for your contacts or friends who may advise following your experience. You shouldn’t let them learn through a bad experience as you may have done.
I think I better get back to the social activities with the guys here who can’t believe I am here blogging with a Port glass in hand
I’ll raise a Port to you all wishing you a Merry Christmas &Â Prosperous New Year
To Your Continued Success
William & Susan
PS: I didn’t check spellings etc so please make any corrections and post them below so I can see how badly I did on this one – Thanx
