Google Instant – Should we call it Google Instant Search?

Â

Now we have Google Instant; this is an innovative way that Goodgle has implemented as of Sept 2010 that looks to show you ever changing search results as you type your search query. The premise is, it saves you time during search by always second guessing what you’re looking for and displaying these results as you type your search string. As for quicker results, they’re right as you can scan the results page as you type which enables you to adjust your search term until you start seeing related results to what you’re looking for.

What Is Google Instant?

Â

Basically, this gives you your desired results a lot faster than having to go through results only to have to retype another search string – start again if you didn’t find what you were looking for in those particular results. being able to adapt your search on the fly saves you time in finding what your exact results or those relating to your research task.

Internet Connection Performance Issues

Obviously, this is going to put a strain on the very slow connections out there but Google believes it’ll automatically turn off Instant Search for those affected. In general, they believe it won’t slow one’s connection down that much.

Instant Search Parental Filter

With the content result filter features, you’ll be able to filter all the content you see in your searches. Just set the Google SafeSearch filter not to show any unwanted content. Parents can thus lock SafeSearch to say a strict setting. But the Google Instant autocomplete excludes certain terms that may not be suitable.

How Does It Affect Search Engine Results?

Google insists that this change in search won’t affect rankings in the search results and I can see why. The fact that once you’ve completed the search or found what you’re looking for, the results on the page are those relating to the term you’d have typed.

The only issue I see now is the need for those seeking to optimize their pages for search to think a little more at what keywords they pick to optimize for rankings. Searchers will always stop mid-way of a search as soon as they see relevant results in the results page below. So make sure, your optimised keyword is most likely to typed at the start of the sentence.

In my view, onlline marketers or those doing SEO will need to be a little more smarter in capturing search engine traffic with this new twist.

I believe, its here to stay and also that webmasters need to rethink their sites’ search engine optimization methods. For instance, it’s showing some keyword results of keywords that don’t show in any of the Google keyword tools.

How Do I Access Instant Search

At present, you can only get Google Instant if you’re logged into your Google account. And if you dont see it, then it hasn’t been rolled out in your area as yet but it’s coming.

What Do You Think About Google Instant?

We’ll see what the industry thinks about this change as web masters look at how it affects their traffic, system loads and performance etc. I think it’s a good thing but also believe as an online marketer, I need to rethink some of the ways I optimize my content. Mainly how to second guess the searcher hence optimize based on that.

Google Instant – Good or Bad?

Google Wave:

I recall having to write to Google first before they invited me in the beta version of their Google Wave program. Basically, you either got invited by someone already signed up or you had no way of getting into their beta Google Wave program. When Google Wave The wave invitations were extremely popular when they first went out in fact some requests appeared on eBay auctions for bids of about $5,000.

I liked the idea of collaboration and being able to have several like minded people working on the same project in real time or at a time that suites the participants but have all the project info in one place be it video, audio, image or text.

Very soon though, the overall interest in Google Wave declined for many who first tried it due to slowness & luck of any permission controls. Twitter that only allows a few character updates won the popularity contest on this one becoming more of an everyday life thing for most.

This is a big company and it’s bounced back with opening the Wave to all that want it as of 18th May 2010 including Google Apps users. This will hopefully create yet another surge of excitement as Google has now got rid of the invitation system. So it looks as though the battle to win over all the sceptics is in full swing.

Google Wave Availability Announcement:

Lars Rasmussen, who’s considered a cofounder of the Google Wave project, was on hand at Google IO (19 – 20th May 2010 Moscone Centre, San Francisco) to break the availability news in front of a large audience. On the Google Wave Blog, Stephanie Hannon, a product manager wrote; “If you tried Google Wave out a while ago, and found it not quite ready for real use, now is a good time to come back for a second try. Wave is much faster and much more stable than when we began the preview, and we have worked hard to make Wave easier to use.”

Specifying that for the curious among us, “For example, you can now get email notifications when waves change, easily navigate to unread parts of a wave, and remove participants added by mistake. We have also added permission management options and an extensions gallery.”

In my view, I believe Google Wave will find a big following though it may happen at a gradual pace than a stampede of sort. The main thing I see as a great improvement is the adding of permission management. The extensions gallery will no doubt open doors to those coders keen to develop apps etc. which will make Google Wave quite powerful. Since its still part of Google Labs, additional changes and refinements may be on the way based on user feedback.

Google Wave’s Online Marketing Potential:

For online marketers, this will open yet another channel for tapping into user groups that share the same niche interest and I believe wave projects will soon start to appear in the live search results on Google just like Twitter and other micro blogs currently do. I believe waves will gain high PR quicker than normal sites if niche targeted just like blogger.

My advise as always is to jump in while it’s still new and start building a following before many do the same. Since Google would like this project to succeed, I am sure they’ll look to help those using it as much as they can. Google Knol was exactly the same when it first launched and I am sure it still helps with link & PR building.

I am currently working on a project though for a while I was being limited by the need for people to first get invited into Good Wave before using it. With an allowance of a maximum of 25 invites, I had little luck of building a big following pronto within Google Wave without relying on those I invite to invite others. This niche marketing project is going to be my first test project for this new project management or collaboration platform – Exciting

Talk Soon

Auto-Blogging & Legally Steal Traffic From Blogger & WordPress

Blogging has been around for ages and we’ve all seen a Niche Blog of some sort over the years. Blogging is actually as old as Internet marketing.

Its so easy to get into blogging these days either by buying ready researched PLR Niche Blogs, buying complete online sites or setting up one on your own selfhosted or otherwise. Basically, nothing could be simpler than writing content in your own blog and watching the traffic roll in.

Okay, I know all that sounds awesome until you realize that you may need several blogs in different niches or even write until your fingers fall off – not cool

That’s the other fact of blogging; you actually have to write A LOT to make it worth any effort. It sure works and the saying “Content Is King” still rings true but but it’s a real pain in the neck

I am a lazy kind of person and although I look to do things properly I’d rather not exert myself and I can now tell you that this niche blogging thing has now been simplified a lot through automation.

Check out this New & Amazing Auto-Blogging Software

I beta tested that bad boy in the older version and now it’s been tweeked with all kinks ironed out and presented to you for the taking. Automation the right way gives you way better results in a fraction of the time manual labour would. If you want to Create Your Own Auto-Blog Cash Empire you MUST automate or you’ll hit the wall and very soon.

See this Auto-Blogging video to understand the power of this thing. It’s painless and Creating TONS of blog entries and raking in massive amounts of free traffic is push-button simple a kid can do it.

It’s like having your own blogging staff slaving away for hours every day just to feed you free traffic. But you don’t pay for the labor!

While most bloggers are working or spending themselves to death, you produce SEVERAL blogs at once, click your mouse a few times and unleash the free traffic deluge.

I don’t know about you, but that’s the kind of “work” I like. You can almost invade any niche you want, elbow your competitors out of the way and be king of the mountain in no time. In minutes, you’ll be funneling free traffic from Goodle, MSN, Bing, Yahoo etc.

“I love free traffic me”

If you want to have that kind of competitive advantage, you need to automate and be more productive with your time via Auto-Blogging

Take a look at this Auto-Blogging Demo Video

Facebook Money Sharing By Buxter (ClickandBuy)

Buxter’s parent company estimates 16,000 online traders accept payments via Buxter. They (Buxter) has now created a facebook application called “Buxter” – Very original I know

This social network site application ONLY allows Facebook Friends to send small payments of a “maximum” of 50 Euros directly to each other. All transactions are handled by Buxter and currently in US Dollar or Euros but the Pound will be added some time soon.

Facebook Friends share a lot of information already so the idea is why not allow them to share small amounts of money too?

Marketing wise, it’s a great angle on thier business model as I feel they’ll come across much less resistance that targeting communities that don’t share or used to the idea of sharing anything. Time will of course tell how all this will be received by the social network community and media as a whole but I think it’s a good thing.

ClickandBuy, the company that operates an online payment service across the web with an estimated 13 million users world wide is the one behind the Buxer Facebook application. The fact that they’re some company I’ve never heard of, I believe one would have to signup to their service first. This usually reduces the number of participants as many are happy with PayPal hence reluctant to go through the signup ritual with another payment processing company.

Basically;

You’ll need a ClickandBuy account to use this application.

You can only send money upto 50 Euros to your Facebook friends

You can send other currencies but you’ll incur a 5% charge

You don’t pay for transactions between Buxter accounts

You pay to move your money to another account say a bank at a minimum of 2 Euros, 2USD or 1.9%

So, What Can You Use This New Buxter Facebook Aapplication For?

With my little thinking hat on some what, I can see several ways this can be explored. In general, just think outside the box depending on your intention obviously.

Signup for an account as soon as possible if you think you’ll need it because usually when a new service is launched, it’s easier to get in than after they’ve tightened their belts.

Use it to share your group outing’s expenses say you all went to dinner and now have to “chip in”.

If you’re a marketer you could market your material and people could pay you through this feature.

Facebook allows you to create a survey or poll “I think“. Poll your friends (I suggest a more specific group around a similar interest than spamming all your contacts) and ask if they’d buy a say $7 small report that shows them how to improve whatever the group is about e.g. SEO, Gardening, weight loss etc. If there’s an interest then create the report and advise they do the Buxter Application thing.

Can You See The Negatives To This?

You must signup for an account with ClickandBuy.

You can only hold a very small amount of money in your ClickandBuy accout at any one time meaning you keep paying the commission when you move your money out of that account to your bank.

For those looking to use it as a downloadable product marketing tool, your friends can simply forward on your download link to the other group friends since its a community. There are product locking software packages for this but its yet another step.

All considered though, it’s a good application and I am sure we’ll see several of the limitations above removed or adjusted depending on user feedback and reception. The fact is that the less limitations they have, the more customers they’ll get as it’ll be more appealing to use.

Online marketers will be eagle eying this one no doubt

Out!

A few reasons make me think facebook doesn’t like me today

I can’t access my inbox

I can’t reply or post to my facebook wall

So I thought I’d log out of facebook and log back in then try.

That process gives me a page not found – Error 404 message as well and if I close the browser and access facebook, I still access my facebook profile as if I didnt log out. Obviously its caching my details and holding onto my last session as I never successfully logged out.

Right now, I cant be bothered to close all my open browser windows to kill the IE process so I’ll just revisit facebook at a later time :p

I guess that give me an excuse to stop procrastinating or using facebook as a means to avoid taking care of other more important stuff as needed LOL

In the mean time, I hope you can focus on the important things in 2010 rather than being caught up in non productive time burning activities. Just don’t forget to have some “ME” time in the process – you must strike a healthy balance.

Mmmh, do you think I am just I am writing this facebook post as a means to avoid doing the more important stuff?

Automatic Targeted Twitter Followers

Create a great twitter following by being more specific and targeting those who really want to hear what you have to say.

Not easy eh!

Ensure you don’t waste your time and their time by finding people who want to hear from you and those you’d like to hear from.

Basically get followers interested in your niche and follow those individuals. You’ll find that because your twitter profile indicates your niche, most of those individuals will see this and follow you back.

This means you’ll build a huge list of real interested followers to target. Obviously, you should use the various twitter directories that are already online to find your niche interested followers. You can of course simplify your life with Automatic Twitter Following.

There after, please don’t spam or simply tweet about your products. Keep it human and imagine you’re actually trying to connect to a real human the other end of your tweets.

Most people visit twitter to get latest news updates or looking to find links to funny time wasting YouTube videos. Go on, give it to them; they’ll love you for it and always be on the look out

Of course add your offer of a product every so often say after 4 – 5 tweets though make sure you’re offering or recommending a descent product that you believe will be of help to your readers.

In as far as building a targeted following is concern, it can be simplified in many ways through automation as can be seen in the 5 minute video above.

Build Niche Specific Twitter Followers Automatically

We “all” know that YouTube has been redesigning their channel layout. Several advertisers and partners are already exploring this change and you can too but it’ll be rolled out to all users even if you don’t do anything. You just may be want to be at fore front of the chage and start customising your channel. Should there be any hicups on the planned switch over for all, details will be placed on the YouTube Blog.

Yes – Many don’t know it has a blog

This makes marketing on YouTube even more appealing as you present your video in a very custom area (channel) that you can personalise to your companies design.

Have a look at this short 5 min YouTube Channel Video

Â

There’s a some what long feature list that shows the things YouTube has addressed with regards to the new channels design:

Fixing some browser-specific layout bugs (especially IE6)

Allowing you to default your channel to “grid” view

Allowing you to re-order your uploads and playlists

Adding transparency

Implementing fixes for a lot of other bugs you helped find, such as grid view not always working correctly

Ability to right-click and open videos in a new tab or window

Full screen capability and the ability for transparency settings to go to 100%.

You can now have the full range of ads on your channel

Sort controls – sort by most viewed, date added, or highest rated

Ratings stars can now be clicked

Counts for the number of videos in each section when in the “all” view mode

When playing a video, the video title now links to the non-channel video watch page

View a small number of video comments as well as leave a quick comment

The font size is now larger while browsing through videos

You can make the list of your playlists your features content set

There are new share controls underneath the videos

Endless loading cycles should now be gone

They say, “No more channels with messed up layouts”

You get a search box when looking at uploads

Honours are back

Video thumbnails are now larger

More interaction options under the video player

You can now feature a video by URL

The subscribe button is yellow again

You can choose a featured video

You can link directly to a specific video and a specific playlist on your channel

You can rearrange boxes on your channel with little arrows

You can message users

You can delete recent activity items

The subscribe button appears when you’re looking at your own channel

There are other feature YouTube says they’re still looking to include like:

The ability to reorder your uploads, or your lists of playlists

Making URL autolink (in both the video description, plus the channel profile area)

Showing the upload date in the video description

There are to be more changes no doubt as YouTube gets more feedback from it’s users but so far so good.

I believe that now is the time for you to get your custom YouTube Channel if you hadn’t considered it before. A video presence is great marketing for your business and the fact that you can brand your channel better it adds to your visitors’experience.

I’ll keep this short and to the point.

We’re currently seeking your help with the testing of several of our products and services.

These include:

Complete PLR Blog & Review Sites

Twitter Service & Product

Membership Video & Article Directory

e.t.c

There are several others as detailed on the Beta Testers’ Page.

You don’t have to test all the products on that page if you don’t have the time; you can simply test the products you’re interested in or for which you have the time.

We’ll be sending out separate instructions for each product to prevent any confusion that may arise from sending one very long email detailing all the products’ testing requirements.

Rather than repeat what’s on that page, I’ll let you navigate to the Beta Testers’ Page and read up on what it is we’re seeking testers for and what’s involved.

Because you’re getting a free product or service in exchange, numbers are limited so if you think you might be interested, take the suggested action on that page.

Thanks for taking the time.

The Product Review Sites Approach To Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is among the best way to earn online owing to the less risk involved and minimal start-up costs. You basically, sell other peoples’ products for a percentage of the sale price.

The big players like EBay, Amazon etc. may pay out a tiny 5% but other companies pay a huge 75%+. These products include software, scripts, eBooks or even medicines.

Do they say, “They’re many ways to skin a cow?” Well, that same principle applies here. Affiliate marketing can be done in many ways i.e. the methods one needs to apply to get people to see their offering and be satisfied from what they’ve seen to hit that buy button there and then.

It is a fact that many affiliates never make as much money as they dream or as was promised by the recent eBook they read. This depends on many factors that we may cover later on but the list may seem endless.

The main point you need to grasp here is that you MUST target people who are looking to buy or interested in your product or service otherwise, all you’ll get are site hits counter values to show for your marketing efforts and little by way of real monetary earnings.

So, How Do Your Target Buyers?

The best approach that I can think of is via good keyword research – cough, cough

Yeah, there’s some element of research involved but this is never as complicated as many make out and once you know the workings of the research, you simply apply the same principle to any niche you enter.

We’ve actually gone a head and did it all for you here

Okay, you have your keywords now you find the product that you can market in line with those niche keywords you just found.

Do some basic research into the product and read up on what others are saying about it and the seller of the said product.

Setup a review site for that product and drive traffic to it.

If you did your keyword research correctly, you’ll be getting some free rankings and traffic from the search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc Try and work with a product name keyword for your domain name and the review site’s content pages. Dedicate a page to each related keyword you found. Oh, be careful about the copy rights as some companies may ask you to take down your site though rare.

Build links via blog comments, trackbacks, bookmarking sites, social sites, your other online properties, article directories etc and link to all pages not just the home page – but you knew that already

People are most likely to buy from review sites than stand alone sites based on the fact that at that very moment they’ve been sold by the positive feedback they’ve seen on that site. Avoid having more than 3 products on the same site. Just compare 3 products as a maximum per site though you may have other affiliated links for visitors to follow should they chose to.

The idea is that you setup your review site to attract site visitors and urge them to taking that credit card action, after informing them about the product they already know they want to buy – Pre-selling.

You can use many platforms out there for your sites but we personally use WordPress customised blog sites which are great for driving traffic to the corresponding product review sites. You can see our sample Complete Niche Blog & Review Sites here.

Online business is a numbers game most times. So having several sites with each bringing in a little $ here and there does amount to a lot of $s by the end of the month. So, keep building your portfolio until you hit the figure you need. Don’t do it blindly, if something in not working, test, tweak and get back to it BUT that doesn’t mean you should hop from opportunity to another either.

Do check out these Complete PLR Blog & Review Sites to see what we’re talking about.
